Testable Predictions
Therapeutic Education proposes that learning engagement depends on the structural compatibility between educational demand and the learner's available capacity.
If this model is correct, several observable patterns should emerge in real learning environments.
The framework therefore produces a set of testable predictions — all of which follow from a single central claim.
The Central Claim

If entry cost is reduced below capacity, previously non-enterable tasks become enterable without any increase in motivation or ability.
This is the falsifiable core of Therapeutic Education.
Prediction 1
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Entry cost determines the possibility of engagement.
When the entry cost of a task exceeds the learner's available capacity, the learner will fail to initiate engagement even when the task is understandable.
Reducing entry cost without reducing conceptual difficulty should restore the possibility of engagement.
Prediction 2
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Continuity determines learning outcomes.
When engagement remains continuously enterable across successive interactions, learning progress will occur even under stress conditions.
When engagement repeatedly collapses and must be re-initiated, learning will slow or stop regardless of the learner's ability.
Prediction 3
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Repeated failed entry attempts produce re-initiation fatigue.
When learners repeatedly attempt to begin tasks that are structurally non-enterable, the cost of each subsequent attempt will increase.
This should manifest as longer hesitation times, increased avoidance, and declining engagement across attempts.

Reducing entry cost restores engagement before motivation changes.
When tasks are redesigned to reduce entry cost, learners who previously appeared unmotivated will re-enter engagement before any motivational intervention occurs.
Motivation therefore follows enterability rather than preceding it.
Prediction 5
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Continuous success initiates the Restorative Loop.
When a stressed learner repeatedly succeeds in enterable tasks, the destructive cycle of failure and withdrawal should reverse.
Over time this should produce:
- reduced hesitation
- longer engagement chains
- increasing voluntary return to learning
This process is described as The Restorative Loop.
